Why did fly2help choose a bear as their mascot?

Mandy Pantall, of fly2help says: "Most people had a toy bear as a child, Paddington Bear and Pooh Bear are world famous, so the idea of a friendly bear is well known. We wanted to have a mascot that would inject a sense of fun and character into our image and break down barriers across the ages. We think that a bright orange, life size bear that loves aeroplanes and who even writes his own blog, will be great fun for all."
