Air Smiles Day - 5th August 2010

On Thurs 5th August two families came to Cotswold Airport to enjoy the flight of a lifetime with their 25yr old sons who, despite their learning difficulties, are greatly encouraged to experience new activities. The Mottram and Greaves families assembled at the AV8 restaurant to start their exciting day with a warm welcome from the fly2help volunteers. The pilots, Martin and Gill, had kindly volunteered to fly everyone together in their beautiful Kingair aeroplane.     Read the full story


Air Smiles Day - 27th July 2010

The Doherty Family - Air Smiles Day 21st June 2010

The Midsummer Solstice dawned bright and clear, promising perfect flying conditions for the Air Smiles Day ahead. The Doherty family arrived in time to see 'their' helicopter arrive at Cotswold Airport . This thrilled their son who had apparently been excitedly Googling helicopters on the internet for several days beforehand!     Read the full story


The Squire Family - Air Smiles Day 2nd June 2010

The day dawned rather overcast and misty but we were all confident that blue skies and sun would break through. The Squire family arrived on time and after meeting the fly2help team and enjoying some refreshments we followed with a brief of the day and important safety information. We had a phone call from David, the Helicopter pilot, to say he would be arriving at 11am as the sunshine began to shine.     Read the full story


Emily - Air Smiles Day 23rd May 2010

Emily and her parents arrived at Cotswold Airport on a beautiful warm sunny day setting the scene for the day to come. After introductions to the fly2help team in the AV8 Restaurant, a cool welcomed drink and the formalities of paper work and safety brief, we all headed over to the static Bristol Britannia aircraft. We were met by the Britannia volunteers Jim and Mervyn, who conducted a thorough, highly amusing and knowledgeable tour of the Britannia. Air Smiles Day - 27th April 2010

On a perfect spring morning 11 very special boys came to Cotswold Airport , with 9 of their carers, to have an experience of a lifetime. These youngsters had all suffered severe trauma and deprivation in their lives, so fly2help was determined to give them all a chance to fly in a helicopter and feel like VIPs for the day.     Read the full story

Scholars Reach New Heights in 2010

The class of 2010 has graduated with "high-flying" colours from Cotswold Airport's annual Aviation Scholarship programme, of which fly2help is a key partner. Ten young people, aged between 14 and 18, were selected from a record number of applications and embarked on two weeks of practical and class-based lessons covering areas including flying, engineering and air traffic control.      Read the full story


Cameron - Air Smiles Day 12th April 2010

On the morning of Monday 12th April Cameron and his family arrived at Cotswold Airport in anticipation of a truly wonderful day out. This family had been through some extremely tough times in the last few years so the chance to be treated like VIPs for a day, in such a unique setting, provided them with the perfect opportunity to really relax and have fun.     Read the full story


Peter and Ivan - Air Smiles Day 12th March 2010

Wendy, a long term carer for Peter who is a gentleman with severe learning difficulties, knew how much he loved anything to do with aircraft so she wrote to fly2help to see if we could make his dream of flying in a small plane come true. Peter came to Cotswold Airport with Wendy and a good friend from his care home called Ivan, who also has severe learning difficulties.     Read the full story
